Northern India

Rajasthan and the North are so packed full of historical cities and beautiful monuments such as the Taj Mahal, Delhi and Jaipur that you could easily spend an entire trip just in this region. Geographically and culturally diverse, northern India is dissected by the holy Ganges River. This is a land of desert and mountain, ancient religious centres and fine Mughal architecture. No stay in northern India is complete without a visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra, the holy city of Varanasi on the sacred Ganges which is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, an atmospheric and busy pilgrimage centre, unlike anywhere else in the world or the fabulous UNESCO temples at Khajuraho. Visits can also be made to Bodh Gaya, site of Buddha’s enlightenment and Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, is dotted with remnants of its rich cultural past. Further north, the Punjab offers the Golden Temple of Amritsar, a Sikh shrine whose gilded exterior glitters in the sunshine. All of our holidays and tours to northern India are unique and fully personalised.
Take a visual journey through what we consider to be some of North India’s unmissable highlights.
